1. The faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident.
2. The fact or occurrence of such discoveries.
3. An instance of making such a discovery.
ETYMOLOGY:
The word is derived from the characters in the Persian fairy tale The Three Princes of Serendip, who made such discoveries.
As we journey through life, we are unknowingly making discoveries, by accidents and sagacity, of things which we are really not in quest of, just like the Three Princes of Serendip, a silly tale of the same title, which this word was derived.
Isn't it exciting to know that life is full of surprises? Shouldn't this be one of the many things that we'll be looking forward to everyday of our lives?
