1. Love makes you vulnerable. Loving does not only involve opening your heart to another person but also sharing a part of yourself with another person. It makes you reveal your weaknesses, hence, placing you at risk of pain.
2. Love makes you do things you’ve never even thought of doing. I knew someone who was lucky enough to survive after guzzling liquid bleach when she saw several girls flirting with her boyfriend.
3. Love makes you blind. Literally, it could be possible if one partner decided to poke the other’s eyeballs out of their sockets just to put an end to the latter’s “girl/boy-watching” hobby. Seriously, love makes you look at the person through the heart and not just by sight. Then you’ll just say to yourself, “if only they could borrow my eyes to see how beautiful you are”.
4. Love brings out the yellow-eyed monster in you. If love brings out the best in us, it also brings out the opposite – that is, when jealousy sets in.
5. Love makes us selfish. I had a college friend who could not dare to break up with her gf because she threatened to cut her wrist again if he does.
Whatever it is, this I know, love does not only make life go on. It also makes the ride worthwhile.
