In our city, a motorcade and tree-planting marked the celebration of this special environmental event.
In the Philippines, this one-day celebration is made into a month-long event to provide more opportunities for increasing environmental awareness and concern of the community. The celebration also enables people to reconsider their impacts on the environment and reaffirm their commitment as stewards of Mother Earth.
I hope that people will not only be kind and concerned to the environment on June 5, 2006 but everyday of the year.
