Last December 2005 I was assigned to conduct site inspection of a proposed resort/eco-tourism project in one of the islets of the Bucas Grande Group of Islands. Knowing that it's a beach resort, I was excited to do the assignment.
A forty-minute boat ride across Hinautan Passage (not to mention the big waves the kept rocking the boat, although the weather was fair) brought me to my destination -- Socorro Island. It's a small island with many fishcages lining the shores and it is flanked by smaller islets with similar geographic features -- rocky substrate and bonsai (stunted) plants.
Looking at the virgin islets are already breathtaking..how much more of the green and bluish coastal waters surrounding the islands? or catching sight of the fishes swimming around corals and seaweeds? or feeling the clean and fresh seabreeze brushing against your skin?
If i would be a millionaire, i would put up my dreamhouse on the island and live in heaven here on earth...
